World's number 1: all the tools to do your Umrah on your own and live the Seerah on site
Preparing the trip, learning the supplications, rehearsing the Umrah at home, then being guided on site and discovering the places of history: I built a tool for each step. They are free, they work on your phone, and most of them do not even ask for an account.
I live in Madinah. Since 2013, I have received the same questions every day: “How do I prepare?”, “Which supplication do I say?”, “How do I avoid getting lost?”. These tools are my answers, turned into pages that accompany you. You open them in your browser, on iPhone or on Android, and you move forward at your own pace. Everything is paid for exclusively out of my own pocket.
World's number 1: the first website in the world to do all this
This work exists nowhere else. Elsewhere, you will find a few photos and a few lines. Here, every tool was built on the ground, in Madinah and in Makkah, and every place was researched in depth, book by book, source by source.
- The first website in the world that highlights the places of history with their exact location and all their sources: the verses, the hadiths with their number, the books of the Seerah. In text in 7 languages, and told aloud by the audio guide when you arrive on site.
- The Umrah explained from A to Z, every rite, every supplication, every question, so that you know exactly what to do.
- Guidance in your ears throughout the Umrah: with your earphones, you are guided from the entrance of the mosque to the exit, step by step.
- An Umrah simulator in real conditions, with the real video of my Umrah, to rehearse everything before you leave.
- GPS guidance, which knows where you are and tells you what to do.
- All the supplications to repeat, word by word, and the website corrects you.
- An audio guide that tells the story as soon as you approach a place, with everything reported by the Sunnah and the authentic books.
- A trip organiser that accompanies you, with GPS tracking, your travel wallet that keeps all your information, and your day-by-day programme.
- 155 historical sites in Madinah, Makkah, Badr and along the pilgrim's route, each with its location, its full story and all its sources, in 7 languages.
- Everything is brought together for those who travel on their own: visa, flights, transport, hotels, and all the steps of the Umrah.
The biography of the Prophet ﷺ, in the very places
The heart of Visite Arabie is the Seerah. Not told from afar: told where it happened. Quba, Uhud, the Trench (Khandaq), Badr, the route of the Hijrah, the wells, the mosques, the cemeteries of the companions. I went to these places, I filmed them, I added some of them myself on Google Maps, and for each one we did real research.
Each page relies on the reference sources: the Quran, the hadiths with their collection and their number (al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud…), the great books of the Seerah (Ibn Hisham, al-Waqidi, Ibn Sa'd), the geographers and historians of Madinah (Yaqut, al-Samhudi), and today's Saudi sources. On a single Badr page, you will find up to fifteen sources, with the volume and the page. What is certain is stated as certain; what is only a local tradition is stated as such.
The result: you no longer visit stones without knowing their story. You know what happened here, who was there, what the Prophet ﷺ said, and how to get there.
The journey, in order
I arranged the tools the way you will live them: first at home, then on the plane, then in Makkah and in Madinah.
- Preparing the trip: visa, flights, budget, checklist, suitcase, apps.
- Learning before you leave: the supplications with correction, the simulator, the steps of the Umrah.
- On site: the guide in your earphones, the qibla, prayer times, currency exchange, the train, mobility, local tips.
- Discovering the places of history: 155 sites, the audio guide that starts on its own, the maps, the museums, the Kaaba live.
- Field guides: from the airport to the hotel, the Miqat by bus and by train, the sightseeing bus, Uhud, Jabal an-Nur, Madinah by bike, shopping, holidays, the notepad, the forum.
1. Preparing the trip, without forgetting anything
Umrah preparation from A to Z
This is the page I advise you to start with. A big checklist, arranged into 8 sections and 52 steps: the documents (passport, visa), the reservations, spiritual training, the suitcase, the programme on site, souvenirs, the apps to install, and useful Arabic phrases.
How it works:
- You choose your profile: man, woman or family. The suitcase list adapts.
- You enter your departure and return dates, and the number of days in Madinah.
- You open a section and tick items as you go.
- The progress bar moves forward. Everything is saved automatically on your phone.
- At the end, you can print your checklist or share it with your family on WhatsApp.
Why it is useful: everything is in one place, in the right order. You see at a glance what is done and what is left. The “On site” section even gives you the day-by-day programme: arrival, the first prayer at the Prophet's Mosque ﷺ, the visits in Madinah, the Miqat, the Tawaf, the Sa'i, the cutting of the hair, and the return.
Open the preparation from A to ZThe visa, explained line by line
Many people still think you need an agency for the visa. That is no longer the case. I wrote a tutorial that follows the application on the official website, box by box, with a video of the full application.
How it works: you open the tutorial on one screen, the official website on the other, and you fill it in at the same time as me. The countries concerned and the documents to prepare are listed before you start.
Why it is useful: you do your visa yourself, without stress and without typing mistakes.
Read the visa tutorialLive flights to Jeddah and Madinah
When there are disruptions in the region, the same question comes back: “Is my flight leaving?”. On this page, I record the status of Saudi airports (Madinah, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and the others), with the share of cancelled flights and the delays. There is also the list of airlines that have suspended or reduced their flights.
How it works:
- You read the status of each airport, with the date and time it was checked.
- You open the official arrivals and departures boards of Jeddah and Madinah, in real time.
- You read the answers to frequent questions, including your rights if your flight is cancelled.
- You share the page with a loved one who is leaving soon, in one tap, on WhatsApp or Telegram.
Why it is useful: you get a clear view of the situation in English, without searching everywhere. The page itself reminds you: always check your flight with your airline.
See live flightsThe budget simulator
How much will the trip cost? This simulator gives you an estimate of your total budget.
How it works: you choose your departure airport (in France, Brussels or Geneva), your dates, the number of pilgrims, your nights in Madinah and in Makkah, then the options (internet, car, sightseeing). You press “Calculer mon budget” (Calculate my budget).
Why it is useful: you know what to expect before reserving anything. It is an estimate, based on averages: real prices depend on your dates.
Estimate my budgetThe Umrah suitcase
A list of 72 things to take, to tick on your phone. You choose who you are (man, woman, child) and your month of departure, and the list adapts: you do not pack the same suitcase in January and in August.
Why it is useful: you do not forget the essentials, and you do not carry unnecessary weight. The field tips come from Madinah.
Pack my suitcaseUseful apps and emergency numbers
- Useful apps: 59 apps to install before you leave, arranged by theme (Umrah and mosques, transport, meals, payment, internet, health, safety). Official links only, with a warning against fake apps.
- Emergencies and embassies: emergency numbers in Saudi Arabia, and the embassies and consulates of 119 countries in Riyadh and Jeddah. You tap a number, your phone calls it.
Why it is useful: on the day you need them, you do not waste time searching.
The travel wallet
A space where you keep your trip information: passport, visa, outbound flight, return flight, hotel in Madinah, hotel in Makkah, insurance, emergency contact. You keep the numbers and references there as text, and you can access them from any device. For your scans, the page advises you to leave them in your own storage space and keep the link in the note.
Just create your account, and your information follows you everywhere.
Open my travel wallet2. Learning before you leave: arriving knowing what to do
The supplications, word by word, with correction of your pronunciation
This is the tool I am proudest of. In the preparation from A to Z, the “Spiritual training” section brings together the supplications of the Umrah in the order you will say them: the intention at the Miqat, the Talbiyah, entering the mosque, seeing the Kaaba, the Black Stone, the supplication between the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone, Maqam Ibrahim, Zamzam, the Sa'i, and leaving Ihram.
How it works:
- You press the orange button: the supplication is read in my voice. The current word lights up, in Arabic and in phonetics, with the translation and the source.
- The “Lent” (Slow) button slows down the playback. The “×3” button repeats it three times in a row to memorise it.
- You press the microphone and recite in your turn.
- The website gives you a score and colours the words: you see right away what is correct and what needs work.
There are two correction modes. The “Fast” mode uses the browser's speech recognition (Chrome or Edge). The “Precise” mode uses an artificial intelligence trained on Quran recitation, which runs directly on your phone, iPhone included. It is downloaded only once, about 130 MB, preferably over Wi-Fi.
Why it is useful: even if you do not read Arabic, you learn with the phonetics, and you know whether you pronounce correctly. You arrive at the Miqat knowing your supplications, instead of reading a piece of paper in the crowd.
Learn the supplicationsThe supplication for entering the mosque
This is the first supplication of your visit, in Makkah as well as in Madinah. I gave it its own page: the Arabic text, the phonetics, the translation, the source, and the audio in my voice.
How it works: you listen once in full, then you follow the word that lights up. You tap an Arabic word to listen again from that word. The “Lent” (Slow) button gives you time to repeat. The page also details the 12 words one by one, and the method to learn it in 5 minutes.
Why it is useful: in a few minutes, you know it by heart, and you will say it naturally as you walk through the door.
Learn the entry supplicationThe “Practise” simulator: live the Umrah before you leave
With this simulator, you watch a pilgrim do the whole Umrah on the real route in Makkah, from the entrance of the mosque to the barber. It uses the same engine, the same audio recordings and the same phone screen as the guide you will have in your earphones on site.
How it works:
- You press “Play”.
- You follow the pilgrim on the aerial view, with a satellite photo and the floor plan of the mosque.
- You hear the instructions at the right moment: what to say, what to do, where to go.
- You speed up if you want (×5 or ×20) to review a part.
- At the end, “7 circuits, 7 laps”: you can start again, or move on to the guided Umrah for real.
Why it is useful: on the day, nothing surprises you. You already know where the Tawaf begins, where to pray the two rak'ahs, where to find Safa, and how to finish.
Practise at homeThe simulator that makes you speak
I am preparing an even more complete version of the simulator. You do the whole Umrah on the real path, with the video of my own Umrah at the top of the screen and the satellite view below. At each step, you hear the supplication, then you repeat it into the microphone: the correct words light up, and you move on. There are 38 steps, an adult mode and a child mode, stars to earn, and a summary at the end with the supplications you have mastered and those to review.
Launch the simulator that makes you speakThe animated map of the 12 steps
The whole Umrah on a single animated map: the Miqat, the entrance, the 7 circuits around the Kaaba, Maqam Ibrahim with the surahs of the two rak'ahs, Zamzam, the Sa'i between Safa and Marwa with the area where men speed up, and the barber.
How it works: you start playback, and each step comes to life with narration in French. You can move forward step by step and listen to the surahs.
Why it is useful: in a few minutes, the whole Umrah plays like a film in your head.
See the map of the 12 stepsThe steps of the Umrah, and 266 answers to your questions
Three pages to understand each rite in detail.
- The Miqat and Ihram: the five Miqats with their coordinates and a link to the map, preparing the body, the clothing, the intention, the Talbiyah, what is forbidden and what remains allowed, special cases, and a final checklist.
- Tawaf, Sa'i and hair cutting: the 5 phases in order, with an approximate duration for each, and 20 situations that really happen (broken ablution, doubt about the number of circuits, congregational prayer, menstruation, wheelchair), each with its answer and its source.
- Questions and answers: 266 questions pilgrims ask, in 11 steps, from the plane to the return. You filter according to your situation (man, woman, children, elderly or sick people). Each answer cites its sources.
Why it is useful: the question you are asking, others have asked before you. The answer is there, with its reference. And for a personal situation, always ask a scholar.
3. On site: guided, not lost
The guided Umrah in your earphones
This is the heart of everything I have built. You put on your earphones, and I accompany you with my voice throughout your Umrah: the entrance, seeing the Kaaba, the Tawaf, Maqam Ibrahim, Zamzam, the Sa'i, and all the way to the barber. I count your circuits and your laps with you.
How it works:
- At the hotel, on Wi-Fi, you press “Prepare” just once: everything is kept on your phone.
- You say where you do your Tawaf (on the ground near the Kaaba, on the 1st floor or on the roof), whether you are a man or a woman, and whether you do the Sa'i in a wheelchair.
- You press “Start my Umrah”. The voice tells you what to do, step by step.
- The phone follows your position (GPS) and your movements (gyroscope). It suggests “circuit completed” or “lap completed”.
- You are the one who confirms, with the big button on the screen or with the “next” button on your earphones (double press).
In pocket mode, the screen goes black but stays on, and everything is done by voice. Removing an earphone never counts anything. If in doubt, the “I'm not sure” button keeps the lower number. You can also follow your position on an aerial view, a 3D view, or a real view filmed during my Umrah.
Why it is useful: in the crowd, you quickly lose count, and you no longer know what to say or where to go. Here, you have someone with you from start to finish. You keep your eyes on the Kaaba and your heart in your worship, and you can do your Umrah on your own, with complete peace of mind.
Tips before you leave: charge your battery above 80% or take a power bank. During the Tawaf and the Sa'i, do not leave the app and do not lock the screen. Install it on your phone's home screen: the page explains how to do it on iPhone and on Android.
The qibla, prayer times, the Hijri date and the prayer beads
- The qibla compass: you turn on your location, you hold the phone flat, and the golden arrow points to the Kaaba. The page also shows the angle and the distance to Makkah. On iPhone, allow access to the compass when asked.
- Prayer times: your 5 prayers of the day, according to where you are.
- The Hijri date of the day, with upcoming events.
- The prayer beads (dhikr): SubhanAllah, al-hamdu lillah, Allahu akbar and others, with a target of 33 and a daily counter and an overall counter.
Why it is useful: at the hotel, on an excursion, in a park, you always know which way to pray and at what time.
The riyal converter
How much is that in euros? You choose your currency (euro, dollar, pound, Moroccan dirham, Algerian dinar or Tunisian dinar), you type an amount or tap a quick amount (50, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000), and you get the conversion at today's rate.
Why it is useful: at a shop or at the exchange office, you know right away whether the price is fair.
Convert to riyalsThe Haramain train
Everything you need to know about the high-speed train between Makkah, Jeddah and Madinah: the 5 stations and their opening hours, the distances, the approximate journey times, the classes, the modification and cancellation fees, the luggage allowed, and how to book through official channels.
Why it is useful: you avoid unpleasant surprises, for example arriving too late at the ticket office, or forgetting that the Makkah station is 3.5 km from the Masjid al-Haram.
Everything about the trainWheelchair and scooter for the Tawaf and the Sa'i
I always think of elderly people, the sick, pregnant women and families. This page presents the 4 solutions at the Masjid al-Haram, from the free wheelchair to the two-seater electric scooter, with the prices, the gates where you collect them and the app to book.
Why it is useful: you can take your parents knowing exactly how it works. No one is left out.
See the mobility solutionsThe local tips map
A map of Madinah, Makkah and Jeddah with useful addresses: transport, money, shopping, food, Zamzam, health, services, leisure and Umrah. You tap a category to filter, or you search for a word. The places marked with a star, I chose and checked myself. The others come from OpenStreetMap: the map tells you so, so that you can check on site.
Why it is useful: you find where to eat, where to change money or where to buy your gifts, without going round in circles.
Open the local tips map4. Discovering the places of history
155 historical sites, each with its story and its sources
Madinah has 80 sites, Makkah 32, Badr 12, and the pilgrim's route 31 (the Miqats, airports, ports, borders and sacred sites). Each page tells the story of the place and gives its sources: verses, hadiths with their collection and their number, books of the Seerah.
Take the page for Quba Mosque. You will find its history, the verse, the authentic hadiths with their references, today's architecture, how to get there from the Prophet's Mosque ﷺ (on foot, by bike, by golf cart, by bus, by taxi), practical information, a video, the GPS coordinates with a button for Google Maps, Apple Maps (iPhone) or Waze, and the nearest places to visit right next to it.
The pages exist in 7 languages: French, Arabic, English, Urdu, Bengali, Indonesian and Turkish.
Why it is useful: you no longer visit stones without knowing their story. You know what happened here, in the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and you know how to get there.
The “Live walk” audio guide: the story is told when you arrive
You put on your earphones, you walk in Madinah, and when you approach a historical site, the story starts on its own. You look at the place with your own eyes while its story is told to you.
How it works:
- You choose how you get around (on foot, by car, by bike, by motorbike, by bus, and even on a camel) and your colour on the map.
- You choose the audience: adult (full story) or children (simplified stories for 11 sites).
- You choose the distance at which the story starts: from 10 m to 250 m.
- You press “Démarrer l'immersion” (Start the immersion). An alert warns you when you approach, then the audio starts.
- If you want, the video of the place can also start on arrival.
The audio guide has 112 audio stories in French: the 80 sites in Madinah and the 32 in Makkah. The menu also offers a walk log (sites visited, kilometres, listening minutes, PDF export), silencing notifications around prayer time, a night mode, an always-on screen, a choice of playback speed, and a button to download Madinah (maps and audio) so you can use it offline.
Why it is useful: you visit Madinah by yourself, at your own pace, as if with someone who knows every place and tells you about it at the right moment.
Start the live walkThe maps of Madinah, Makkah and Badr
Each city has its interactive map with all its sites. You filter by type (mosques, mountains, wells, forts, cemeteries, caves, monuments), you display your position, and the map counts the sites you have already visited.
The website's main map goes further: more than 200 sites, the bus stops and bus lines of Makkah and Madinah, an adjustable navigation voice, and a Sakina mode that calms the animations in the sacred places.
Why it is useful: you plan your day of visits at a glance, and on site you see what is around you.
Museums and visits
Between two prayers, Madinah and Makkah have real museums that tell the Seerah. This page presents them one by one: what you see there, the duration, and the starting price recorded on the date shown.
Why it is useful: you fill your afternoons with meaningful visits, especially with children.
See the museums and visitsThe Kaaba and Madinah live
The official broadcast of Saudi television, 24/7: the Masjid al-Haram around the Kaaba, and the Prophet's Mosque ﷺ in Madinah. You switch from one to the other in one tap, in full screen if you want.
Why it is useful: before you leave, you can already immerse yourself in the atmosphere.
Watch live5. Field guides, tested on site
In addition to the tools, I wrote practical guides based on my own journeys. Every price, every bus number, every gate comes from what I did myself.
The travel notepad
A notebook on your phone to write down your addresses, your ideas, what you want to buy, your contacts and your prayer memo. Everything is in one place during the trip.
Open my notepadThe pilgrims' forum
A space to talk with other pilgrims: advice, experiences, local tips in Madinah and Makkah, visa procedures. You ask your question, the community answers you.
Go to the forumWhat it changes for you
Where is the Miqat? What do I say in front of the Kaaba? Which circuit am I on? How do I get to Quba? Today, every question has its tool.
- You prepare everything in one place, in the right order, without forgetting anything.
- You arrive knowing: the supplications are learned, the Umrah has been rehearsed.
- You are no longer lost: a voice guides you, counts with you, and tells you where to go.
- You visit by yourself: the places tell their story when you arrive.
- You stay free: you move forward at your own pace, with your family, without an intermediary.
Taking your parents, your wife, your children to do the Umrah is an immense gift. My wish is that these tools give you the confidence to do it.
Frequently asked questions
Are these tools free?
Yes. All the tools presented on this page are free, without limits.
Do I need to create an account?
No, for almost everything. The preparation from A to Z keeps your progress on your phone, and the simulator, the guide in your earphones, the maps and the audio guide are used without an account. Only the travel wallet requires an account, so you can find your information on all your devices.
Does it work without internet?
Some tools, yes. The guide in your earphones is prepared just once over Wi-Fi, with the “Prepare” button, and everything stays on your phone. The audio guide has a button to download Madinah (maps and audio). The precise correction of the supplications is downloaded once (about 130 MB), then it runs on your phone. Live flights, the exchange rate, prayer times and the Kaaba live stream require a connection.
In which languages?
Everything is in French. The Umrah tools (the preparation, the simulator, the guide in your earphones) also exist in English, Urdu, Bengali, Indonesian and Turkish: the Arabic and my Arabic voice stay the same, while the phonetics, the translation and the instructions change. The historical site pages exist in 7 languages: French, Arabic, English, Urdu, Bengali, Indonesian and Turkish. The audio stories of the audio guide are in French.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Everything opens in your phone's browser, without downloading anything from a store. The guide in your earphones and the audio guide can be installed on your home screen: the page explains how to do it on iPhone (Safari) and on Android (Chrome). The precise correction of the supplications also works on iPhone.
Can the circuit counter make mistakes?
The counter is an aid. The phone suggests, and you are the one who confirms each circuit and each lap. Removing an earphone never counts anything. If you are in doubt, the “I'm not sure” button keeps the lower number.
Is my voice recorded when I recite?
No, not by Visite Arabie. With the precise correction, the artificial intelligence listens to your voice directly on your phone, and nothing is sent over the internet. With the fast correction, your browser's speech recognition does the work.
Do these tools replace the opinion of a scholar?
No. The supplications and answers are checked and sourced, but for a question of jurisprudence or a personal situation, ask a qualified scholar.
An idea for a tool, an error to report? Write to me from the Contact page. I read everything. And if these tools help you, share this page with those preparing their Umrah. May Allah make your journey easy for you.
