Dua on seeing the Kaaba
5. The Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) — at every round
🪨 At the start of each round of Tawaf, facing the Black Stone. Raise your right hand (or point it towards the Stone).
The Black Stone
6. Dua during Tawaf (between the Yemeni Corner & the Black Stone)
🔄 7 rounds around the Kaaba (anticlockwise). Recommended dua between the 2 corners.
Tawaf dua
7. Maqam Ibrahim (after the 7 rounds)
🕌 Recite the verse, then pray 2 rak'ahs behind the Maqam (Station of Ibrahim). 4 audios : verse + Al-Fatiha + Al-Kafirun (rak'ah 1) + Al-Ikhlas (rak'ah 2).
① Quran verse 2:125
“And take the station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.”
② Surah Al-Fatiha (rak'ah 1 + 2)
Surah 1 — recited in every rak'ah (obligatory)
③ Surah Al-Kafirun (rak'ah 1)
Surah 109 (6 verses) — after Al-Fatiha in the 1st rak'ah
④ Surah Al-Ikhlas (rak'ah 2)
Surah 112 (4 verses) — after Al-Fatiha in the 2nd rak'ah
8. Zamzam water (to drink)
💧 Drink standing, facing the Qiblah, in 3 sips. Make a personal dua (Zamzam is for whatever it is drunk for). Pour some over your head.
Zamzam dua
9. Sa'i between Safa and Marwah (5 duas)
🚶‍♂️ 7 laps. Start at Safa, finish at Marwah. 5 specific duas depending on where you are.
① Approaching Safa (first time only)
“Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the rites of Allah” (Quran 2:158)
② Sunnah phrase (straight after the verse)
“Abda'u bimā bada'a Allāhu bih” — “I begin with what Allah began with”
③ On Safa, facing the Kaaba — hands raised (3 times)
Allāhu Akbar (×3) · Lā ilāha illa-Llāh wahdahu lā sharīka lah... Then make your personal dua. Repeat on Safa and on Marwah each time you reach them.
④ Between the green markers (men jog · women walk)
“Rabbi-ghfir warham, wa anta-l-A'azzu-l-Akram” — “My Lord, forgive and have mercy, You are the Most Mighty, the Most Generous”
⑤ On Marwah — facing the Kaaba, hands raised (same words as ③)
⚠️ Counting the 7 laps: Safa→Marwah = 1 · Marwah→Safa = 2 · ... · You must finish on Marwah (lap 7).
10. Tahallul (leaving Ihram)
✂️ Men: shave the whole head (preferred) or shorten the hair evenly. Women: cut 1 lock (the length of a fingertip). Umrah complete!
Tahallul
