Masjid al-Fas-h is one of the small commemorative mosques related to the events of the Battle of Uhud (year 3 AH). The name Al-Fas-h in Arabic can mean 'the wide', 'the open space', suggesting a clear area where the army gathered or rested.

The reported tradition

According to local chroniclers of Medina, the Prophet ﷺ is said to have stopped at this location during one of his passages — either before the Battle of Uhud or on another occasion. (As-Samhudi · Wafa' al-Wafa)
