WELL ON THE PROPHET'S ﷺ PATH
Second historical well restored between Quba and the Friday Mosque.
On the Sacred Path
Between the Mosque of Quba and the Al-Jumu'ah Mosque, along this approximately 4-kilometer route that the Prophet ﷺ traveled many times, two historical wells have been preserved and restored.
This second well also dates back to the prophetic era and was used by the companions.
The Prophet's ﷺ Weekly Visit to Quba
According to the authentic hadith: "The Prophet ﷺ visited the Mosque of Quba every Saturday, sometimes on foot, sometimes mounted." (Sahih al-Bukhari no. 1193 · Sahih Muslim no. 1399)
On this route, he would regularly stop to drink, perform ablutions, greet the inhabitants, and bless the wells he encountered. This well is part of the chain of blessed water that marked the path of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Why This Well is Precious
When you place your hand on the stone of this well, you are likely touching the same stone as the companions. The aquifer that supplies it is the same as in the prophetic era. This is what sustains the spiritual Medina: a material continuity between the time of the Prophet ﷺ and us.
Note of Sincerity
The exact name of this well in classical sources has been lost over the centuries. What is certain is that the region is saturated with prophetic wells, the Prophet ﷺ traveled this route many times, and the Saudi authorities have restored it as part of the heritage of the Sîrah.
To be visited with sincere intention rather than with an unverified precise narrative.
