MOSQUE OF ABU DHARR AL-GHIFARI
The mosque of the truthful.
Abu Dharr (رضي الله عنه)
This mosque is named after Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (رضي الله عنه) — one of the four earliest Muslims, the companion about whom the Prophet ﷺ said:
"The heavens have not shaded and the earth has not borne anyone more truthful than Abu Dharr." (Sunan at-Tirmidhi n°3801 — sahih)
The man who will die alone
The Prophet ﷺ made a disturbing prophecy about Abu Dharr: "May Allah have mercy on Abu Dharr — he walks alone, he dies alone, and he will be resurrected alone." (Mu'jam at-Tabarani)
And that is exactly what happened. Abu Dharr went into exile in ar-Rabadhah (a desert near Medina) where he died alone with his wife and daughter, just as the Prophet ﷺ had prophesied.
