MOSQUE OF ABU BAKR (KHANDAQ)

The position of the Siddiq during the siege.

The Loyal Companion at the Front

This mosque is part of the seven mosques of Khandaq. It traditionally commemorates the position of Abu Bakr during the siege of year 5 AH.

Abu Bakr — who never left the Prophet ﷺ — was with him in all the battles. At Khandaq, he defended one of the sections of the trench with his men.

The Constancy of Abu Bakr

"Abu Bakr is afraid when the Prophet ﷺ is afraid, and is secure when the Prophet ﷺ is secure."

This saying of Aisha (رضي الله عنها) summarizes the entire life of Abu Bakr — always in the shadow of his Beloved ﷺ.
