This mosque is part of the seven mosques of Khandaq. It traditionally commemorates the position of Abu Bakr during the siege of year 5 AH.
Abu Bakr, who never left the Prophet ﷺ, was with him in all the battles. At Khandaq, according to tradition, he held one of the sections of the trench.

Abu Bakr lived his whole life as a Muslim at the side of his Beloved ﷺ: the first free man to believe in him, his companion in the Hijra, present in all his expeditions.
