MONUMENT TALA'A AL-BADRU 'ALAYNA
The echo of a chant that has traversed fourteen centuries — Near the ancient northern entrance of Medina, in the Al-Qaswa neighborhood.
A Night at the Dawn of a New World
September of the year 622. The Prophet ﷺ and his loyal companion Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (رضي الله عنه) approach Medina, riding on a camel, after miraculously escaping the Quraysh.
Suddenly, silhouettes appear on the hills in the distance. A whole city, Yathrib, which for the first time becomes what it will forever remain: Madinat an-Nabi — the city of the Prophet.
And in the evening air, a melody rises. Children's voices, it is said, accompanied by a tambourine: "The full moon has risen over us…"
Al-Qaswa, the Camel that Chose the Place
The neighborhood that houses this monument is named Al-Qaswa, the beloved camel of the Prophet ﷺ. At the entrance to Medina, he refused to choose where to stop: "Let her pass, for she is commanded." And the camel stopped on the land of two young orphans, at the location where the Mosque of the Prophet ﷺ would soon rise.
The Famous Chant
"The full moon has risen over us / From the hills of farewell / It is our duty to give thanks / As long as a caller invokes Allah."

The TRULY Authentic Hadith
Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), who was just a child at the time, later narrated: "I have never seen a day more beautiful, more radiant than the day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered among us in Medina. And I have never seen a day more dark, more gloomy than the day he left us." (Sunan at-Tirmidhi no. 3618 — authentic chain)
