Bir Tuwa is a historic well located in the valley of Dhi Tuwa (ذي طوى), right at the northern entrance of Makkah. It was here that the Prophet ﷺ camped during several of his entries into the holy city.
Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنهما reports:
> "The Prophet ﷺ spent the night at Dhi Tuwa until the morning, then he entered Makkah."

The original well has been partially preserved, but the area is today largely built up. Bir Tuwa has become a historic landmark in the modern district of Az-Zahir.
